Why does my application have to be so long?

In order to network and communicate, the other network members need to know who you are, what you do, what you are an expert in, what you would like to share with the community.

In order to get a good idea of who you are, we ask for 1,500 characters or about 20 lines. This is, on average, 1 line per 1 – 2 YEARS of your life… It does not all have to be vital info. Your profile should be a descriptive presentation of you, your background, education, work experience, hobbies and interests.

We have found that people, when confronted with the need to "complete" the application up to 1,500 characters, often come up with additional information about themselves that is quite interesting: hobbies, dreams, trips, interests.

If you are young, i.e, 24 or younger, you can write a bit less, and fill the rest with spaces or xxxx, so that the system accepts your application form (we will edit them out). However, do try to write about the items above, we really like to know who you are!

Of course you can cheat and fill your application with someone else's info, copy five lines a number of times, or use many xxx or spaces. This will get you through the application process, but not through the review process. Please respect the guidelines and our time.
